Shipping & Returns
Order handling
Parts ship from stock. This page covers what you pay to move them, how to follow an order, and what to do when a box turns up damaged or the number on it is wrong.
The shipping charge for your order is worked out for that order and shown with your total at checkout, before you confirm. If a truck is down and the timing is the whole point, ask through the contact form before you order rather than hoping.
What you pay to ship
One charge, shown at checkout with the total, so nothing is added after you have confirmed. It reflects what is actually in the box: a case of filters and a set of brake drums do not travel for the same money.
Some heavy-duty parts are too large or too heavy for ordinary parcel carriage. Fenders, grilles, bumpers, seats and larger brake components can need freight handling instead. Where that applies to something you want, ask before you order and we will tell you how it moves.
When an order ships
Orders are picked from stock once payment clears. Transit time after that belongs to the carrier and depends on the destination and the size of the shipment, which is why this page does not print a figure as though it held for every address in the country. What we can tell you is what is on the shelf and when it leaves.
Following your order
Every accepted order carries a number beginning GMS. Enter it on theorder lookup page to see the state of the order and, once the shipment has one, the carrier's tracking. Keep the number: it is the fastest way through any question about the order later.
Damage, shortage or the wrong number
- Check the shipment against the packing list before you sign for it. On a freight delivery, note visible damage on the delivery receipt at the time. A receipt signed clean makes a damage claim far harder to run.
- Photograph the part and the packaging, including any carrier labels.
- Contact us with the order number and those photos as soon as you can. Carriers work to short claim deadlines, so a fast message is worth more than a detailed one sent later.
Returns
Contact us before you send anything back. A return is agreed first so that the parcel arrives with paperwork tying it to the original order, which is what makes it quick to settle. A box that turns up with no reference attached to it is a box nobody can credit.
- Keep the part in the condition it arrived in, with its original packaging, tags and any hardware that came with it.
- A sealed part that turned out to be the wrong number is a straightforward conversation. A part that has been fitted, wired in, cut, painted or run is a different one, and some manufacturers do not take electrical parts back at all once they have been installed. Ask before you fit anything you are unsure about.
- Special order items and parts brought in to your specification are handled case by case. Ask before you order if you expect you might need to send it back.
Cancelling an order
Tell us as early as you can, with the order number. Before it is picked, a cancellation is simple. Once it is on a truck it becomes a return, and the steps above apply.
